About the platform
The World Cup Sweepstake platform is designed and operated by Black Pastel. It provides tools that allow organisers to create and manage recreational sweepstakes, entrants, team assignments, prizes, fixtures and bonus mini sweepstakes.
Acceptance of these terms
By creating an organiser account, managing a sweepstake or using the public site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the platform.
Organiser responsibilities
Organisers are responsible for:
- Making sure their sweepstake is lawful in every place where it is offered.
- Setting, funding and distributing all prizes and resolving disputes between entrants.
- Providing accurate information and keeping organiser login details secure.
- Obtaining permission to upload and publish entrant names, photographs and other personal information.
- Removing information promptly if an entrant withdraws permission or publication is no longer appropriate.
- Ensuring the platform is not used for fraud, unlawful gambling, harassment, abuse or other illegal activity.
Prize funds and payments
Black Pastel does not hold, administer, insure or guarantee organiser prize funds. Prize descriptions displayed by the platform are supplied by organisers. Any disagreement about entry payments, eligibility, results or prizes is between the organiser and entrants.
Payments made through the Support this Project page are voluntary contributions towards platform operation and development. They are not charitable donations and do not purchase entry into a sweepstake, a prize or a guaranteed service.
Accounts and security
Organisers must use accurate account information and a secure password. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account. Please contact hello@blackpastel.co.uk promptly if you believe an account has been compromised.
Public links and access codes
Access codes and unlisted links improve convenience but should not be treated as high-security access controls. Anyone who receives a code or link may be able to view the associated public sweepstake information.
Acceptable use
You must not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, data or infrastructure.
- Upload malicious code, unlawful material or content that infringes another person’s rights.
- Use automated systems to overload, scrape or disrupt the platform.
- Misrepresent affiliation with Black Pastel, FIFA or any football governing body.
- Use the platform in a way that could expose Black Pastel or another person to legal or reputational harm.
Availability and changes
We aim to keep the platform available and accurate, but uninterrupted operation is not guaranteed. Features may be changed, suspended or withdrawn for maintenance, security, legal or operational reasons.
Football data and results
Fixtures, scores, standings, elimination status and tournament information may come from external data sources or manual administration. Organisers should verify important results before awarding prizes. Black Pastel does not guarantee that data will always be complete, immediate or error-free.
Suspension and removal
We may suspend or remove a sweepstake or organiser account where we reasonably believe these terms have been breached, the platform is being abused, personal information is being used improperly, or suspension is required for security or legal reasons.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, Black Pastel is not responsible for organiser prize obligations, entrant disputes, lost winnings, indirect losses, or losses caused by information supplied by organisers or external data providers.
Intellectual property
The platform design, code, branding and original content belong to Black Pastel or its licensors. Organisers retain responsibility for content they upload and grant Black Pastel permission to host and display that content for operation of the sweepstake.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, except where applicable consumer law requires otherwise.
