World Cup Sweepstake
Cookie Policy
Last updated: 11 June 2026
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by websites. Similar technologies, including browser storage, can also remember information or preferences.
Cookies and storage currently used
Essential PHP session cookie
The site uses a PHP session cookie to provide secure organiser and administrator login, preserve authenticated sessions and support security-related functions. It is essential to services requested by logged-in users.
Cookie-notice preference
When you dismiss the essential-cookie notice, the site stores a small browser
preference named wc_essential_cookie_notice_dismissed. This prevents the
same informational notice from appearing on every visit.
Stripe checkout
If you choose to support the project and follow a link to Stripe, Stripe may use cookies and similar technologies on its hosted checkout page for payment processing, fraud prevention, security and related functions. Stripe controls those technologies on its own service.
Analytics and advertising
We do not currently use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, personalised advertising cookies or similar non-essential tracking technologies on the sweepstake platform.
Do we ask for cookie consent?
The technologies currently used directly by this site are limited to essential login/session functions and a preference that remembers dismissal of the cookie notice. We therefore provide information rather than an accept/reject consent banner.
If non-essential analytics, advertising or tracking technologies are introduced, they should remain disabled until the visitor has been given an appropriate choice, and this policy will be updated.
Managing cookies
You can delete or block cookies and browser storage through your browser settings. Blocking the essential session cookie may prevent organiser or administrator login from working correctly.
